Hope, Strength, Encouragement

YOU CAN REJOICE IN YOUR SUFFERINGS, because you know that suffering produces perseverance; perseverance, character; and character, hope!

Problems that cause you pain can ultimately increase your hope.

However, this doesn't happen automatically.

You have to cooperate with My Spirit as He guides you through times of suffering.

Perseverance is a rare commodity in this day and age.

Most people look for and long for a quick fix.

But lingering adversity—accepted with trust and confidence in Me—develops Christ-like character.

This prepares you for an eternity of problem-free living with Me.

Your changed character will bless you and others in this world also, because I crafted you in My own image—to be like Me.

The more you become like Me, the more you can experience hope.

Your transformed character convinces you that you do indeed belong to Me.

This helps you cope with the problems you face, trusting that you and I together can handle them.

And the wondrous hope of heaven shines on you daily, strengthening and encouraging you.

I AM TAKING CARE OF YOU.

I KNOW HOW HARD this is to believe when conditions that are troubling you get worse instead of better.

It's easy to feel as if I am letting you down—as if I really don't care about what you're going through.

You know I could instantly change your circumstances, and you can't understand why I seem to be so unresponsive to your prayers.

But I repeat: I am taking care of you.

To become aware of My loving Presence, you need to relax and stop trying to control things.

Give up your futile efforts to think your way through your problems.

Fall back into My strong arms with a sigh of trust.

Cease striving and simply enjoy being in My Presence.

Though there are many things you don't understand, you can rest in My unfailing Love.

This Love is independent of all circumstances, and it will never be taken away from you.

Although My ways may be mysterious and unfathomable, My Love is perfect and everlasting.

Watch in hope for Me, remembering that I am God your Savior.

Do Not Give Up Now!

At Just the Right Time

Are you praying for something that's taking longer than you thought or expected?

No matter how long you may have been standing on God's promises, don't give up!

Your season is coming.

Your harvest of blessing is on its way.

It might be today, it might be tomorrow, it might be next week, next month or next year; but remember, at just the right time, you will experience your breakthrough.

Be encouraged because God is faithful, and His promises are true.

Keep standing,
keep hoping,
keep believing.

Keep doing good.
Keep declaring the promises of God over your life.

Choose to be around people who are going to encourage you.

Make sure you fill your heart and mind with God's Word.

Let a song of praise come out of your mouth.

Press on in faith because at just the right time, your harvest of blessing will come!

I Am With You

I AM WITH YOU.

Heaven's bells continually peal with that promise of My Presence.

Some people never hear those bells because their minds are earthbound and their hearts are closed to Me.

Others hear the bells only once or twice in their lifetimes, in rare moments of seeking Me above all else.

My desire is that My "sheep"hear My voice continually, for I am the ever-present Shepherd.

Quietness is the classroom where you learn to hear My voice.

Beginners need a quiet place in order to still their minds.

As you advance in this discipline, you gradually learn to carry the stillness with you wherever you go.

When you step back into the mainstream of life, strain to hear those glorious bells:

All You Need, Just When You Need It

COME TO ME when you are hurting, and I will soothe your pain.

Come to Me when you are joyful, and I will share your Joy, multiplying it many times over.

I am All you need, just when you need it.

Your deepest desires find fulfillment in Me alone.

This is the age of self-help.

Bookstores abound with books about "taking care of number one,"making oneself the center of all things.

The main goal of these methodologies is to become self-sufficient and confident.

You, however, have been called to take a "road less traveled": continual dependence on Me.

True confidence comes from knowing you are complete in My Presence.

Everything you need has its counterpart in Me.

"Remember, You are Never Alone in your Struggles - Let me have all your Worries and Cares"

KEEP RETURNING YOUR FOCUS TO ME!

I AM always thinking about you and watching everything that concerns you.

You, however, are only human, and you will lose sight of Me at times.

I know how hard it is for you to stay focused on Me, especially when you are feeling weak or weary.

So give yourself grace whenever you realize your mind and heart have wandered from Me.

And waste no time in returning to Me by praising Me in thought, word, or song.

Even whispering My Name—reverently, lovingly—can be worship.

Let Me have all your worries and cares.

This may sound easy, but it is not; you are accustomed to worry-thoughts roaming freely in your brain.

So you must train yourself to bring all your cares into My Presence, trusting Me to help you.

Remember that you are never alone in your struggles: I am always aware of you and your circumstances.

I can help you because I have all authority in heaven and on earth.

As you come into My Presence, let go of your worries and cares—so you can cling to Me in childlike trust.

YOU ARE ON AN ADVENTUROUS TRAIL WITH Me.

This is not an easy time, but it is nonetheless good—full of blessings as well as struggles.

Be open to learning all that I want to teach you as you journey through challenging terrain.

And be willing to let go of familiar comforts so you can say a wholehearted "Yes!" to this adventure.

I will give you everything you need to cope with the challenges you face.

Don't waste energy projecting yourself into the future—trying to walk through those "not yet" times in your mind.

This is a form of unbelief.

I have unlimited resources to provide what you need, including a vast army of angels at My beck and call.

Pray continually as you make decisions about this journey.

I can help you make wise choices because I know everything—including what lies ahead on your path.

Your mind makes various plans about your way, but I am the One who directs your steps and makes them sure.

Joy in even the Grayest of Days

NO MATTER WHAT your circumstances may be, you can find Joy in My Presence.

On some days Joy is generously strewn along your life-path, glistening in the sunlight.

On days like that, being content is as simple as breathing the next breath or taking the next step.

Other days are overcast and gloomy; you feel the strain of the journey, which seems endless.

Dull gray rocks greet your gaze and cause your feet to ache.

Yet Joy is still attainable.

Search for it as for hidden treasure.

Begin by remembering that I have created this day; it is not a chance occurrence.

Recall that I am present with you whether you sense My Presence or not.

Then, start talking with Me about whatever is on your mind.

Rejoice in the fact that I understand you perfectly, and I know exactly what you are experiencing.

As you continue communicating with Me, your mood will gradually lighten.

Awareness of My marvelous Companionship can infuse Joy into the grayest day.

Let Me Protect you from Danger and Fear

I AM A SHIELD FOR ALL WHO TAKE REFUGE IN Me.

So come close to Me and hover under the umbrella of My shielding Presence.

You sometimes feel unprotected and exposed to dangers.

This happens when you crawl out from under My protective Presence and try to face the world on your own.

You do this unconsciously, whenever you forget the essential truth that I am with you.

The fear you feel at such times can alert you to what has happened, and the remedy is simple:

Take refuge in Me.

Shielding you from dangers is part of My job description because I am your Shepherd.

I am vigilant, and I know exactly what is on the path ahead of you.

I anticipate perilous situations and prepare you for them.

A masterful shepherd can often take care of trouble so skillfully that his sheep remain blissfully unaware of it.

So it is wise to choose carefully the one whom you will follow—your "shepherd."

I am the only absolutely Good Shepherd. Follow Me and My ways; let Me protect you from danger and from fear.

Be Joyful Always; Pray Continually

I AM CALLING YOU TO LIVE IN JOYFUL dependence on Me.

Many people view dependence as a despicable condition, so they strive to be as self-sufficient as possible.

This is not My way for you!

I designed you to need Me continually—and to delight in that neediness.

When you live in harmony with your Creator's intentions for you, you can maximize your potential and enjoy your life more.

The apostle Paul exhorted Christians to be joyful always and to pray continually.

There is always Joy to be found in My Presence, and I have promised I will not leave you or forsake you.

So you can speak to Me at all times, knowing that I hear and I care.

Praying continually is a way of demonstrating your deliberate dependence on Me—the One to whom you pray.

Another powerful way of relying on Me is studying My Word, asking Me to use it to transform you through and through.

These delightful disciplines help you live in joyful dependence on Me.

Delight yourself in Me more and more; this increases your Joy and glorifies Me.

"Why do you worry about the Rest?"

ANXIETY IS A RESULT OF envisioning the future without Me.

So the best defense against worry is staying in communication with Me.

When you turn your thoughts toward Me, you can think much more positively.

Remember to listen, as well as to speak, making your thoughts a dialogue with Me.

If you must consider upcoming events, follow these rules:

1) Do not linger in the future, because anxieties sprout up like mushrooms when you wander there.

2) Remember the promise of My continual Presence; include Me in any imagery that comes to mind.

This mental discipline does not come easily, because you are accustomed to being god of your fantasies.

However, the reality of My Presence with you, now and forevermore, outshines any fantasy you could ever imagine.

Not Sent to Destroy but to Strengthen

"I've discovered that sometimes the things we get discouraged about are the very things God uses to promote us.

God will not allow a trial to come into your life unless He has a purpose.

He doesn't send the storms, but He uses them.

When you're in difficult times, know that this challenge was not sent to destroy you.

It was sent to promote you, to increase you, to strengthen you.

You may not see how it will do that, at first, but God has a way.

He sends adversity to bring out potential we didn't even know we had.

Maybe you've been through a loss and you don't see anything bright in your future.

It feels like people are walking on top of you. You feel like you've been buried.

Just remember, there is a process taking place. Like that little planted seed, new growth is springing forth in you—new talent, new determination, new opportunities, new friendships.

God is birthing something in you greater than you are right now.

Keep reminding yourself, "God is still on the throne. This is not the end. It's only the beginning. I've got comeback power in my DNA."

Don't live with a chip on your shoulder.

Don't dwell on your disappointments, on what didn't work out.

Bitterness will keep your seed from taking root.

Self-pity will hinder your growth.

Self-condemnation and feeling unworthy of God's goodness will only limit how high you can go.

Shake off those feelings.

Step up into faith.

Understand that the only difference between being buried and being planted is what you expect.

If you expect that difficulty to be the end of you and you give up on your dreams, then even though you're a seed with the life of Almighty God, even though God has already planned your comeback, because of your own thinking, it won't happen.

I've seen people go through incredible challenges with smiles on their faces.

They're hoping, believing, expecting.

You know what they're saying?

"God, I know I'm not buried. I'm planted, and I can't wait to see what You will do next. I can't wait to see the new doors You'll open, the new friends I'll make, the new opportunities I will have."

If you'll stay in faith like those smiling people, you will rise above your difficulties to a new fullness.

You'll see God blossom your life in ways you've never imagined."

Present and Proven Help in Times of Distress

I AM A VERY PRESENT AND WELL-PROVED HELP in trouble.

My Presence is always with you, but I am very present in times of distress.

Because you are a member of My royal family—a citizen of My heavenly kingdom—I am committed to caring for you.

During stressful times, your heart may race and your adrenaline level may soar.

These physiological changes can block your awareness of My Presence.

So it's vital at such times to remind yourself:

"Jesus is here with me; in fact, He is very present with me in this hard situation."

Then, take some slow, deep breaths so you can relax enough to connect with Me and draw strength from Me.

Biblical history has many examples of My faithfulness during times of trouble. World history—including current events—also contains proof of My powerful Presence.

You won't hear of this in secular news reports, but I continue to do miracles in your world.

Moreover, as you look back over the years of your own life, you will see many instances of My meeting your needs in hard times.

Since I am such a well-proved Help, you can trust Me to help you now!

One Source of Help and Hope

I am your risen, living Savior!

Through My resurrection you have been born again to an ever-living hope.

It is vital for you to remain hopeful, no matter what is going on in your life. . . .

When storms break upon your life, you can find only one adequate source of help— Me!

JESUS LIVES

Comeback Power!!

"At some point, we all face major challenges—the loss of a job, a broken relationship, an illness—that easily could bury us in despair.

Negative thoughts can overpower you at such times, bombarding your mind, telling you, It's over. You've seen your best days. Your future is tainted. Your life is ruined.

Yet there is a difference between being buried and being planted.

That difference boils down to your expectation of what happens next.

We all face difficulties, but you have the seed of Almighty God on the inside. He breathed His life into you.

When you go through disappointments and you're in tough times, you may feel like you've been buried, but the fact is, you've simply been planted.

That means you're coming back.

And you're not only coming back, you will come back better, increased, stronger.

Only after your seed has been planted and it goes through the process of germination—the outer shell breaks off, the new growth springs forth—will it blossom and produce more fruit.

No matter what comes against you in life, you are not buried.

You are planted.

You may feel as though you are buried in dirt right now.

You're in a tough time.

Something was unfair.

It seems like your situation will never change.

But if you keep shaking off the dirt, shaking off the self-pity, shaking off the negative thoughts, then you too—like that little seed—will begin to feel the life of God spring forth.

The same power that raised Christ from the dead is on the inside of you.

That sickness will tell you: "You can't push me out of the way. I'm much bigger than you. I've got you buried."

Don't believe that lie.

Just say, like the seed, "I'm coming back.

This economy may have knocked me down. It may have cost me my job. It may have drained my savings.

But I'm not buried. I'm planted. I've got comeback power.  This is not the end. It's only the beginning."

Or in a different scenario:

"I may be lying in the hospital right now, but this sickness is only temporary. This chemo may have taken my strength, my energy, my hair.

But know this today: I've got comeback power. This is not the end. It's only the beginning.

"When you have faith, your potential is never buried.

Know that whomever the Son sets free is free indeed.

God has another victory in your future.

Your best days are in front of you.

God will not let you go through more than you can handle.

If you have a big challenge today, that just means you have a big destiny.

Extraordinary people face extraordinary difficulties.

But the good news is we serve an extraordinary God.

He has you in the palm of His hand."

They may look daunting, but in Me you are indeed ready for anything and equal to anything.

Of course, you're not currently ready for every imaginable situation.

I carefully control what happens in your life.

I am constantly protecting you from both known and unknown dangers. And I provide strength, just when you need it, for everything I allow to touch your life.

Many of the future things you anxiously anticipate will not actually reach you.

My promise is for things you face in the present, and it is sufficient.

So when you are feeling the strain of an uphill journey, tell yourself the truth: "I have strength for all things through Christ who empowers me! "

Never Alone in Your Struggles

TRUST ME IN TIMES OF CONFUSION AND IN STORMS—WHEN things don't make sense and nothing you do seems to help.

This type of trust delights Me, because I know it is real.

Invite Me to enter into your struggles—to be ever so close to you.

Though other people may not really understand what you're going through, I understand perfectly.

Find comfort in knowing you're not alone in your struggles.

I am with you, watching over you continually.

Long-term trials can drain you of energy and hope, making it hard for you to keep trusting Me.

But I have given you a wonderful Helper, the Holy Spirit, who never runs out of strength.

You can ask for His help, praying:

"I trust You, Jesus; help me, Holy Spirit."

Instead of trying to resolve all your problems, simply rest in My Presence.

Trust that there is a way forward, even though you can't yet see it.

I am providing a good way for you, though it is bumpy at times.

When the road is rough, cling all the more tightly to Me.

As your soul clings to Me, My right hand upholds you.

Everything You Need.....

"Get this down in your spirit: God wants you to reach new levels of fulfillment, new levels of increase, new levels of promotion, new levels of victory.

You have been faithful.

You've served others.

You've been your best day in and day out.

You're about to see a major shift.

You're about to come across a handful on purpose that will propel you to a new level.

You will step into a new dimension—the overflow anointing.

If you are discouraged right now, know that if God had not already released good things into your future, you wouldn't be here.

He would have taken you on home.

As long as you're breathing, there's another handful on purpose in front of you.

Somewhere in your path there's promotion, increase, good breaks, divine connections.

When you really understand this principle, it puts a spring in your step.

You'll go out each day excited, thinking, I wonder when that next handful is coming.

It could be today.

It could be tomorrow.

It could be next week.

When you stay in faith, you will walk into God's blessings.

Understand that He's already released into your future everything you need to fulfill your destiny.

My prayer for you is that you will receive everything God has in store.

I speak it over you right now: new seasons of increase.

I declare favor over your life.

I speak strength into you.

I speak health.

I speak wisdom.

I speak creativity.

I speak divine connections.

I speak supernatural opportunities.

They are coming your way.

Faith over Fear....

A bit long but the message is worth the few extra minutes. ...

Stay Strong!!

Choose faith over Fear.

None of us is immune to fear.

A while back, I was facing a potentially bad situation. It had gone on for months and months.

Every morning, the dread and fear hit me first thing: "This will not work out. It will cause a lot of heartache. You might as well plan for defeat."

Fear will try to dominate your thoughts.

If you allow it, fear will keep you awake at night.

Fear will steal your joy, steal your enthusiasm.

Those fears followed me around like a dark cloud.

But one day I heard God say something—not out loud.

It was just an impression deep within.

He said: "Joel, if you worry about this and you keep mulling over all the reasons why it will not work out, then because of your worry, you will allow that to come to pass. But if you will trust Me and use that same energy to believe instead of worry, then I will turn it around and cause it to work out to your advantage."

When I heard that, I found a new perspective.

I realized that worry, fear, and wrong thinking are not simply bad habits.

They allow the negative to come to pass.

I made a decision from that moment on: I would not worry about the bad situation anymore.

When I was tempted to get discouraged, I used the temptation as a reminder to thank God that He was in control and to thank Him that He was fighting my battles for me.

Several months later that situation resolved in my favor, and it turned out better than I could have imagined.

It was as if God put an exclamation point on it, saying, "See, Joel. If you'll just believe, if you'll just trust Me, I'll not only bring you out, I'll bring you out better off than you were before."

Focus on your faith; let God deal with your fear.

We have so many opportunities to be fearful in these times.

People are concerned about the economy, worried about their health, fearful for their children.

But God says to you what He said to me: "Don't use your energy to worry. Use your energy to believe."

Do you know that it takes the same amount of energy to believe as it does to worry?

It's just as easy to say, "God is supplying all of my needs," as it is to say, "I will never make it."

It takes the same amount of effort to say, "I will live a long healthy life,"as it does to say, "I don't think I'll ever get well."

When someone expresses fear about being laid off, I understand the concern.

Your fears may be valid, too, but you can't go around meditating on them, expecting the worst, expecting to have a bad year.

When you dwell on your fears, you use your faith in reverse.

Instead of constantly worrying, simply say, "God, my life is in Your hands. I know You're guiding and directing my steps and I'm not expecting defeat. I'm not expecting failure. I'm expecting to have a blessed year. I'm expecting to go over and not under."

You might ask, "What if I do that and it doesn't happen?"

What if you do it and it does happen?

Even if you were to get laid off, you don't have to get discouraged or think, I knew it wouldn't work for me.

Instead, stay in faith.

Know that when one door closes, God will open up another.

If you keep the right attitude, He'll give you a better job, with better benefits, making better money!

Your fears are almost always greater than the reality.

Fear feels big.

It is intimidating.

It will tell you: "You will never be healthy.""

That child will never change."

"Your finances will fall apart."

You need to face that fear and say, "You sound impressive. You look tough. But I know the truth. There's nothing really to you. You may talk a good talk, but I know your bite is not near as big as your bark.

You may look permanent, but I know you're only temporary.

Things in my life may be a little dark and cloudy right now. It looks like they will never change.

But I have inside information.

I know the sun is still shining and it's just a matter of time before this fog dissipates and the sky will be as clear and beautiful as it's always been."

Your fears become more powerful when you dwell on them.

You give them power by playing out every worst-case scenario as if you were watching a scary movie.

Negative thoughts turn into negative images.

Even small fears can become terrifying when you blow them out of proportion.

Take that small pain in your side. It's nothing.

You just had too much to eat.

But negative thoughts will come creeping: That's cancer. My mother had it. My grandmother had it. Now it's my time.

If you let those discouraging thoughts play out over and over again, before long you'll see yourself in the hospital.

You'll see yourself not able to take care of your children.

You'll see yourself at your own funeral.

No, you should cast down those nagging thoughts.

Don't let negative pictures play on the movie screen of your mind.

You are the director and the audience.

You are in charge.

Take the remote control.

Change the channel.

If you let your imagination run wild, let it run wild in a POSITIVE direction.

Always choose Faith over Fear!"

The One Who Keeps You Safe

I AM THE ONE WHO KEEPS YOU SAFE.

YOU TEND to rely heavily on your thinking and planning, as if that is where your security lies.

When you start to feel anxious about something, your mind goes into overdrive—searching for solutions, searching for security.

All the while I am with you, holding you by your right hand.

Beware of trusting in yourself—which is foolish.

Instead, walk in wisdom and you will be kept safe.

The essence of wisdom is to trust in Me more than in yourself or other people.

I stand ready to guide you with My counsel, so bring all your concerns to Me.

When you are feeling confused, it may be helpful to write out your prayers, asking Me to show you the way forward.

Then wait in My Presence, giving Me time to guide your mind while you focus on Me and My Word.

You can whisper, "Jesus," to help you stay focused.

My Name—representing all that I AM—is a strong tower; those who run to it are safe.

Stop Worrying

"WORRY IS LARGELY A MATTER OF THINKING about things at the wrong time.

I have built into your brain the amazing capacity to observe your own thoughts.

So it is possible to monitor your thoughts and make choices about them.

To avoid wasting mental and emotional energy, timing is very important.

If you think about certain things at the wrong time—for example, when you're lying in bed—it's all too easy to start worrying about them.

This is why it's so helpful to monitor your thinking.

Instead of waiting until you're deep in worry, you can interrupt anxious thoughts and change the subject.

I want you to discipline your mind to minimize worry and maximize worship.

This will require much ongoing effort, but you'll find that it is a path to freedom.

When you realize you're thinking about something at the wrong time—a worrisome thought at a time when you can do nothing about it—take swift action.

Tell yourself, "Not now!" and direct your mind elsewhere.

The best direction for your thinking is toward Me.

Draw near Me by expressing your trust in Me, your love for Me.

This is worship."

The One and Only Thing You Need

I AM THE CULMINATION of all your hopes and desires.

I am the Alpha and the Omega, the first and the last: who is and was and is to come.

Before you knew Me, you expressed your longing for Me in hurtful ways.

You were ever so vulnerable to the evil around you in the world.

But now My Presence safely shields you, enfolding you in My loving arms.

I have lifted you out of darkness into My marvelous Light.

Though I have brought many pleasures into your life, not one of them is essential.

Receive My blessings with open hands.

Enjoy My good gifts, but do not cling to them.

Turn your attention to the Giver of all good things, and rest in the knowledge that you are complete in Me.

The one thing you absolutely need is the one thing you can never lose:

Your Fortress and Refuge

LEAN ON ME AS YOU FACE THE CIRCUMSTANCES of this day.

Whether or not they realize it, all people lean on—depend on—something: physical strength, intelligence, beauty, wealth, achievements, family, friends, and so on.

All of these are gifts from Me, to be enjoyed gratefully.

However, relying on any of these things is risky, because every one of them can let you down.

When your circumstances are challenging and you are feeling weak, you tend to obsess about how you are going to make it through the day.

This wastes a lot of time and energy; it also distracts you from Me.

Whenever this happens, ask Me to open your eyes so you can find Me in the moment.

"See" Me standing nearby, with My strong arm extended toward you—offering you My help.

Don't try to pretend that you have it all together or that you're stronger than you really are.

Instead, lean hard on Me, letting Me bear most of your weight and help you with your problems.

Rejoice in Me—your Strength—and worship while leaning on Me.

Promise

This makes it possible for Me to go ahead of you—opening up the way—without ever leaving your side.

The promise of My Presence is for all time.

No matter where you go or what circumstances you encounter, I will be with you.

This is the basis of your courage and confidence.

Though fear and discouragement may sometimes slink into your heart, this is not their rightful home.

Your heart is My dwelling place, and those hurtful emotions are not from Me.

In fact, My perfect Love casts out fear.

So check your heart from time to time, to see if fear and discouragement are loitering there.

If you discover those unwelcome intruders, ask the Holy Spirit to function as a bouncer and boot them out!

Then, encourage yourself with My promise to go before you and be with you—and let My perfect Love renew your hope.

Take Courage. It is I. Don’t be Afraid

WHEN YOU ARE FEELING OVERWHELMED BY your circumstances, take time to listen to Me.

Hear Me saying, "Take courage! It is I. Don't be afraid."

Listening to Me when you're feeling stressed requires discipline and trust.

Your racing thoughts make it hard to hear My gentle whisper.

Ask the Holy Spirit to calm your mind so that you can hear My voice.

Remember that I—the Prince of Peace—am with you at all times.

I am not only with you; I am also in your circumstances.

Moreover, I am in control of everything that happens to you.

Although I am never the author of evil, I am fully able to use bad things for good.

This does not remove your suffering, but it does redeem it—infusing it with meaning.

So if you are in a storm of difficulties, I say to you,

"Take courage. It is I."

Search for signs of My abiding Presence in your current situation.

You will seek Me and find Me when you search for Me with all your heart.

Extend Forgiveness

Today's Scripture

"Then said Jesus, 'Father, forgive them; for they know not what they do.'"

Extend Forgiveness

When you've been hurt or offended, sometimes it's tempting to hold on to unforgiveness.

But we have to remember, when people wrong us, our battle is not against flesh and blood.

In other words, that person who hurt you is not the real enemy.

The Bible says that your adversary is the devil, and he knows that if you don't forgive, your prayers won't be effective.

Unforgiveness puts up a barrier in your life to the power of God.

In fact, if we don't forgive others, we can't be forgiven by God.

However, when you choose forgiveness, you open the door for God's healing power to flow through you!

Disarm the enemy in your life today by choosing forgiveness.

Bless those who curse you and pray for those who wrong you.

Look at what Jesus did—when He was betrayed, beaten, mocked and disrespected, He chose to forgive.

Follow His example, and open the door for victory in every area of your life!

A Prayer for Today
"Father, thank You for forgiving me and giving me new life. Today I choose to extend forgiveness to others. I bless those who have wronged me and ask You to heal every broken place in my life in Jesus' name.

Refuse to Get Discouraged

BE STRONG AND COURAGEOUS.

DO NOT BE discouraged, for I will be with you wherever you go.

You can choose to be strong and courageous even when you are feeling very weak.

However, the weaker you feel, the more effort it takes to choose to be strong.

It all depends on where you look.

If you gaze at yourself and your problems, your courage will melt away.

The choice to be bold rests on your confidence that I am with you and for you.

Through eyes of faith, see Me on the path before you, beckoning you on, one step at a time.

Looking to Me consistently will increase your strength and valor.

When everything seems to be going wrong, refuse to get discouraged.

Remember that I am a God of surprises: I am not limited by the way things are or by the paltry possibilities you can see.

I am infinitely creative and powerful.

With Me all things are possible!

The longer you wait for your prayers to be answered, the closer you are to a breakthrough.

Meanwhile, waiting for Me—aware of My loving Presence—is a blessed way to live.

I am good to those who wait for Me.

Joy in the Most Difficult Days

"REMEMBER THAT JOY is not dependent on your circumstances.

Some of the world's most miserable people are those whose circumstances seem the most enviable.

People who reach the top of the ladder career-wise are often surprised to find emptiness awaiting them.

True Joy is a by-product of living in My Presence.

Therefore you can experience it in palaces, in prisons . . . anywhere.

Do not judge a day as devoid of Joy just because it contains difficulties.

Instead, concentrate on staying in communication with Me.

Many of the problems that clamor for your attention will resolve themselves.

Other matters you must deal with, but I will help you with them.

If you make problem-solving secondary to the goal of living close to Me, you can find Joy even in your most difficult days."

Your Helper

I AM THE CREATOR OF HEAVEN AND EARTH: Lord of all that is and all that will ever be.

Although I am unimaginably vast, I choose to dwell within you, permeating you with My Presence.

Only in the spirit realm could Someone so infinitely great live within someone so very small.

Be awed by the Power and the Glory of My Spirit within you!

Though the Holy Spirit is infinite, He deigns to be your Helper.

He is always ready to offer assistance; all you need to do is ask.

When the path before you looks easy and straightforward, you may be tempted to go it alone instead of relying on Me.

This is when you are in the greatest danger of stumbling.

Ask My Spirit to help you as you go each step of the way.

Never neglect this glorious Source of strength within you.

Press Through..

"Ask and keep on asking and it will be given to you; seek and keep on seeking and you will find; knock and keep on knocking and the door will be opened to you."
(Matthew 7:7, AMP)

Press Through
In Mark chapter five, there was a woman who had been sick for twelve years.

The doctors gave her no hope, but she heard that Jesus was passing through town.

Something deep down on the inside was saying, "This is your season. This is your time to get well."

In the natural, when she saw all the people around Him, she thought, "I'll never get to Him. It's so crowded and I'm weak."

She almost missed her season.

But instead of dwelling on those negative thoughts, instead of looking at her situation, she started reminding herself, "If I can just get to Jesus, I will be whole."

She made the choice to turn her thoughts in the right direction and was empowered to take a leap of faith.

She pressed through the crowd until she got just close enough to touch the edge of Jesus' robe.

Instantly, she was made whole.

Jesus said in Mark 5:34, "Daughter, your faith has made you well."

Notice it's our faith that activates God's power.

We have to press through our thoughts, press through our circumstances, press through the crowd and obstacles until we touch Him.

Today, with every step you take, God is drawing closer to you.

He'll meet your faith with His miraculous power so you can embrace the victory He has waiting for you!

"Father, I come to You today with an open and humble heart. I ask You to fill me with Your strength, peace and joy so that I can press through to victory today in Jesus' name.

Guardian Angels

Yesterday marked the Feast of the Guardian Angels.

Every one of us has been given the gift of a Guardian Angel. From birth to death we can count on this protection and guidance in our lives in times of distress and strife.

Take comfort knowing that your Guardian Angel is always with you!

YOU ARE ON AN ADVENTUROUS TRAIL WITH Me.

This is not an easy time, but it is nonetheless good—full of blessings as well as struggles.

Be open to learning all that I want to teach you as you journey through challenging terrain.

And be willing to let go of familiar comforts so you can say a wholehearted "Yes!"to this adventure.

I will give you everything you need to cope with the challenges you face.

Don't waste energy projecting yourself into the future—trying to walk through those "not yet" times in your mind.

This is a form of unbelief.

I have unlimited resources to provide what you need, including a vast army of angels at My beck and call.

Pray continually as you make decisions about this journey.

I can help you make wise choices because I know everything—including what lies ahead on your path.

Your mind makes various plans about your way, but I am the One who directs your steps and makes them sure.

The Only One who can Keep You Safe

Before you read the amazingly POWERFUL message and promise of Trust, Hope and Faith below, please take a moment to say a prayer to St Therese de Lisieux - "The Little Flower" whose Feast Day we Celebrate today!

"Through her letters, the word-of-mouth tradition originating with her fellow-nuns, and especially through the publication of "Histoire d'un ame," Therese of the Child Jesus or "The Little Flower" soon came to mean a great deal to numberless people; she had shown them the way of perfection in the small things of every day.

Miracles and graces were being attributed to her intercession, and within twenty-eight years after death, this simple young nun had been canonized.

In 1936 a basilica in her honor at Lisieux was opened and blessed by Cardinal Pacelli; and it was he who, in 1944, as Pope, declared her the secondary patroness of France. "The Little Flower" was an admirer of St. Teresa of Avila, and a comparison at once suggests itself. 

They both patiently endured severe physical sufferings; both had a capacity for intense religious experience; both led lives made radiant by the love of Christ.

St. Therese died at age 24 having devoted her life to Christ from as early an age as she could remember.

While some people have proposed that certain prayers must be said at certain times and before certain hours, and connected with other prayers, this is not Therese's "little way".

She took seriously Jesus' request that we not use lots of words, but rather pray to God our Father in simple, hidden and honest ways."

PUT YOUR TRUST IN ME, AND I WILL KEEP YOU SAFE.

There is a deep, deep yearning in your heart for safety and security.

You can mask these longings with activity for a time, but only for a time.

These feelings actually serve a very good purpose.

Properly used, they can point you to Me and My sufficiency.

I am the only One who can really, ultimately keep you safe.

Whenever you start to feel insecure—about anything—come to Me.

Talk with Me about your fears and concerns; then affirm your trust in Me.

Voicing your trust connects you with Me at a deep level.

It also pushes back the darkness of deception.

The evil one has been deceiving people ever since time began, since the Garden of Eden.

Do not listen to his lies.

Instead, put your trust in Me, for I am absolute Truth.

As you come to know Me—the Truth—better and better, I make you increasingly free.
