What truly matters?

"It doesn't interest me what you do for a living.

I want to know what you ache for and if you dare to dream of meeting your heart's longing."

Feast of St. Jude today

Please remember the Feast of St. Jude today.

There are so many in our very midst in need of spiritual hope and strength, some just to get out of bed in the morning.

Please offer a prayer to St. Jude today and every day for all of us in need of his holy intervention for our specific trials and challenges.

Especially pray for Jim Griffin to beat his challenge and for an unnamed gentleman in need of a job and facing foreclosure on his home - as well as any others in need of St. Jude's intervention in their desperate and hopeless cases!

His Novena has NEVER been known to fail!

Novena To St. Jude

Most holy Apostle, St. Jude, faithful servant and friend of Jesus, the Church honors and invokes you universally, as the patron of difficult cases, of things almost despaired of, Pray for me, I am so helpless and alone.

Intercede with God for me that He bring visible and speedy help where help is almost despaired of. Come to my assistance in this great need that I may receive the consolation and help of heaven in all my necessities, tribulations, and sufferings, particularly -

(make your request here)

- and that I may praise God with you and all the saints forever. I promise, O Blessed St. Jude, to be ever mindful of this great favor granted me by God and to always honor you as my special and powerful patron, and to gratefully encourage devotion to you.
Amen

PRAYER

May the Most Sacred Heart of Jesus be adored, and loved in all the tabernacles until the end of time. Amen.

May the most Sacred Heart of Jesus be praised and glorified now and forever. Amen

St. Jude pray for us and hear our prayers. Amen.

Blessed be the Sacred Heart of Jesus

Blessed be the Immaculate Heart of Mary

Blessed be St. Jude Thaddeus, in all the world and for all Eternity.

(say this prayer, followed by the Our Father and the Hail Mary)

Stay Strong and Thank you St Jude as always for your consideration and guidance daily.

Where is Joy found?

"I realised thoroughly that Joy is not found in the things which surround us , but joy lives in the soul.

One could possess it as well in an obscure prison as in the palace of a king.

And so now I am happier here at the Carmel, in the midst of trials within and without, than I was in the world where I had everything I wanted, and above all else, all the joys of a happy home."

Need help? Help others!!!!

"As we work to create light for others, we naturally light our own way."

-Mary Anne Radmacher

At the impromptu suggestion of my wife on her Dad's death anniversary, I took up reading a book called The Story of a Soul -The autobiography of Saint Therese de Lisieux.

The book is a compilation of writings from Saint Therese to her "mother" from her early years and it is an amazing look into a life given over to Jesus, service, and charity from an amazingly early age.

In her writings, she recalls details of her childhood and revelations about her growth that are inspirational and leave no doubt as to her "calling".

She too put he needs of others first as a means to escape any trials in her early years, and she had many trials from age 4 to 14 to deal with indeed.

It is a great lesson for us all and one the continually endures!

Arthur Prochnow. Rest in Peace

Please set aside a few moments today to say a prayer of strength and faith for my good friend Eliane who lost her Dad in Brazil last night.

Arthur Prochnow fought a long and courageous battle with his illness and endured many trials in his later years. There is no question he has received his just reward in Heaven today and the suffering and pain has vanished. He is home now and in eternal peace.

Please pray for strength and faith for his family left here with us as they face the next challenging months of adjustment.

Elaine wrote this passage with her Dad in mind:

"The words of Jesus during His last days on earth vividly express His desire to go "back to the Father" (John 16:28). We, as His people, also have a vision of something far beyond the difficulties and disappointments of this life and are traveling toward fulfillment, completion, and an enriched life.

We too are going "to the Father".

Much of our new home is still unclear to us, but two things are certain: our "Father´s house" (John 14:2) is our home.

And it is in the presence of the Lord. As believers, we know and understand that we are all travelers and not permanent residents of this world."

Amazing Life Advice

As we all know, Steve Jobs the co-founder of Apple and what many are calling the "Father of the 21st Century" passed away this week.

The sheer volume of articles, insights, tributes and farewells on light of his death is just amazing and he clearly effected millions of people's lifestyles with his vision and execution.

Of these tributes, one stood out to me.

I was sincerely impressed and moved by the commencement address he had given to Stanford graduates after he thought he had beaten cancer.

It is a speech everyone should read or watch as it seems to really come from his heart and it is filled with such sage advice, insight, and  is extremely thought provoking and inspiring to boot.

It is difficult to pick one piece of advice to highlight after reviewing and reading all the great comments and words of guidance Steve dropped over the last 3 decades, but one of them really struck me and if he did follow his own advice, I respect him even more!

It is so true, but takes amazing courage and bravery to carry it out.
I for one am guilty of not acting on this advice and pray that one day that will change!

I encourage you to read or watch this amazing address at the below link and I hope you gain as much from it as I certainly did!

He certainly left us with more than Ipads and Iphones, he left us with a lot to ponder.....

Stay Strong!

"When I was 17, I read a quote that went something like: "If you live each day as if it was your last, someday you'll most certainly be right." It made an impression on me, and since then, for the past 33 years, I have looked in the mirror every morning and asked myself:

"If today were the last day of my life, would I want to do what I am about to do today?" And whenever the answer has been "No" for too many days in a row, I know I need to change something."  -Steve Jobs
