"You cannot do a kindness too soon,
for you never know how soon it will be too late."
- Ralph Waldo Emerson
I am hoping you will indulge me a bit and participate in a little sociological experiment with me?
We often talk of the premise that service and acts of kindness to others can and does truly transform our lives.
It is written everywhere we turn and quoted in every spiritual passage we seem to come across.
And if we were asked whether or not we ourselves practiced this principle as a daily discipline some may say yes, others may say occasionally and some may certainly say they have zero idea!
So here is my proposal and challenge to myself and to you - if you choose to accept it.
For the next 30 days -beginning today- I ask you to seek out and capture AT LEAST one deliberate act of service or kindness EACH DAY to another human being!
Sounds simple doesn't it?
This act should be outside of the normal daily tasks and duties we all undertake and naturally should be designed to either lift someone's spirits, provide strength or hope to someone in need, or lighten someone's current burden.
You all know what it entails and what is needed to deliver this.
I ask that you reply to me with your acceptance of this challenge asap and EACH day if you could commit to sending me an email with simply this text:
DAY # "X"
COMPLETED ... "#" OF ACTS
If none occurred that day, you can simply email me with "PUSH" - and add that day's goal to the next day and make up for it!
That is all!
I will endeavor to do the same to this distribution list and let's see the impact of our experiment!
Who will join me??
Stay Strong! !
